 2/22/2021 Water, Water, Everywhere

Are you dehydrated, stagnant?

You can't control much of what's happening around you. But do what you can. Receive from the One who gives to the thirsty, who causes them to "become a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:13-14).

Come, drink from the fountain of Life. Not from a stagnant pond or a puddle of water. Find a rushing stream, a babbling brook. Be refreshed. Move, head downstream. The rushing water may not be where you want to be. But go. Go with the current, not against it.

Where are we going? We can only see a short distance ahead and behind. But God is the Alpha--he was there at the beginning of life. He's the Omega--he is there at the end of life.

Meanwhile, be "a well-watered garden," a spring whose waters never fail even in the desert (Isaiah 58:11). "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let let the one who is thirsty come, let the one who desires, take the water of life without price" (Revelation 22:1).

"There is a river that flows from God above. There is a fountain that's filled with God's own love. Come to the water. There is a vast supply."

"Flow River, flow, set our hearts on fire. Shine, Jesus, shine."

God, you know where we've been and where we're going. You've ordained our destination. Keep us in the life-giving stream that flows from the throne above. Amen
